In Memory of LaVida Annette Ximines
March 8, 1986 - March 4, 2018

LaVida was a remarkable student and steward of the world.  Her love of school started in 1989 at New Bern Avenue Daycare Center.  She was outstanding at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School.  Driven to excellence, she continued to rise on the academic fast track in collegiate studies at East Carolina University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine in 2008.  She became a dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in 2006.  LaVida's aspirations toward Athletic Administration continued as she pursued and received a Master of Science Degree in 2015 from North Carolina Central University.

The forecast of life changed when she was diagnosed with Lupus in 2005. She educated herself and others about the disease. LaVida loved life in general and was appreciative of the small everyday things. She understood the magnitude of the possibilities and critical health scenarios. Quality was everything to her and she traveled the world on what seemed to be a wing and a prayer.

In Honor of LaVida's Memory ...
Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Join our team today and support our efforts!
