To Friends and Family,
To all who donated last year, the Eason family thanks you again from the bottom of our hearts. Another year has past and we are supporting the Walk to End Lupus on Saturday May 2nd. Last year our team raised approximately $6000 in fundraising donations. This could only have happened because of the generous contributions by supporters like you. It is hard to believe this will be our sixth year of participation. We hope with your help and kindness, we can do it again in a big way.
Last year we were again blessed to have our son and granddaughter Zoe travel from Florida to participate in the 2019 Lupus Golf Tournament in Charlotte. Chris and Zoe both volunteered and were a big help. All had a great afternoon.
This year is truly special. Our daughter Cindy who lives in Rhode Island is a seasoned runner and has run numerous half marathons. This year she is planning to run a marathon on the same weekend as the Walk. She is doing this to honor my sister Cindy who also has lupus, myself plus the whole Lupus Thriver community. As we are walking, she will be running. Her name is Cindy Mowry. Please support her to get to her goal of $100 per mile or $2620. Look her up "Lupus Family Warriors"and cheer her on! Thank you my special daughter!
We have been blessed by the support of you all, family and friends. The neighbourhood friends where we live are a constant support.
We hope our family and friends will once again be at the Walk this year.
Our heart is the foundation. We continue to volunteer as much as possible. We do as many Outreach programs we can. The stories we hear and the people we help is why we do it. It is only through your kind donations that we can provide educational material, access to support groups as well as the staff at the foundation. We also provide "gentle hugs".
We are doing this so one day we may hear a doctor say, “There is a cure for Lupus.” Until that day though, there is work to be done. We hope and pray that our family and yours will never be affected but if it does, it would be nice to know there is a cure. We are also continuing to fundraise for Lupus brothers and sisters to support those that continue to struggle with this disease and in memory of those who have passed.
Will you make a donation to help us reach our personal fundraising goal and support the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus? A generous contribution can make a definite impact. What’s more, if your employer offers a Matching Gift Program to employees, you may be able to double your contribution with just a little bit of paperwork. Trust us, it’s worth the effort! Every single dollar counts.
Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of Lupus. We are looking forward to seeing all your names and donations on our donation form. Thank you for your generosity!
Blessings and much Love,
Carol, Derek and the entire Eason Family
