To Friends and Family,
To all who donated last year, the Eason family thanks you again from the bottom of our hearts. Another year has past and we are supporting the Walk to End Lupus on Saturday May 18th. Last year our team raised approximately $13000 in fundraising donations. This could only have happened because of the generous contributions by supporters like you. It is hard to believe this will be our fifth year of participation. We hope with your help and kindness, we can do it again in a big way.
We were blessed to have our son's family (Chris, Sherry and Zoe) travel from Florida to participate in the 2018 Lupus Golf Tournament in Charlotte. Chris helped load the truck and set up and even though we finished well back, we all had a great afternoon. Zoe our oldest granddaughter was the youngest volunteer. She has since taken up golf lessons and loves it. Who knows, maybe she will be the superstar in 2019.
We recently had a visit from our daughter Cindy, husband Mike and our two granddaughters Jolie and Neko who live in Providence, RI. Special times were had. On Sunday we were able to give Cindy and Mike a few hours off to go have a date. They do not get the chance to do that very often and they went out and were home before us. We took the girls to lunch and to "Make a Bear". They were perfect.
Cindy (sister and sister in law)is also a Lupus Thriver. Her son Charley is a great support. Charley has always been successful at any sport he played but congrats to Charley on winning the JV Wrestling Championship for his weight class in Rhode Island. Next year we are going to try and be there. We are so proud of you both.
We have been blessed by the support of you all, family and friends. The neighbourhood friends where we live are a constant support.
We hope our family and friends will once again be at the Walk this year.
If anyone we reach out to works in an office and would like a lunch served or cookies made to get donations, please contact us. For those who have participated before, thank you.
Our heart is the foundation. We continue to volunteer as much as possible. We do as many Outreach programs we can. The stories we hear and the people we help is why we do it. It is only through your kind donations that we can provide educational material, access to support groups as well as the staff at the foundation. We also provide "gentle hugs".
Imagine a day when doctors can say, “There is a cure for Lupus.” Until that day though, there is work to be done. We hope and pray that our family and yours will never be affected but if it does, it would be nice to know there is a cure. We are also continuing to fundraise for Lupus brothers and sisters to support those that continue to struggle with this disease and in memory of those who have passed.
Will you make a donation to help us reach our personal fundraising goal and support the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus? A generous contribution can make a definite impact. What’s more, if your employer offers a Matching Gift Program to employees, you may be able to double your contribution with just a little bit of paperwork. Trust us, it’s worth the effort! Every single dollar counts.
Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of Lupus. We are looking forward to seeing all your names and donations on our donation form. Thank you for your generosity!
Blessings and much Love,
Carol, Derek and the entire Eason Family
