Please join me as we walk to end lupus together on May 6th, 2017. As you may or may not know, my mother Tami has Lupus. She was diagnosed almost 20 years ago. Lupus is a disease in which the immune system attacks the body, instead of protecting. It is classified as an Auto-Immune Disease. In the United States alone, roughly 2 million people have been diagnosed with Lupus. Medications such as prednisone (a steroid), methotrexate, and a list of others are used to manage the symptoms. These medications have cruel side effects that make it difficult, but are necessary. We need a cure, not more medications.
So please, join me, grab some flyers, and come walk with us at the Andy Wells Pavilion on Veterans Memorial in Killeen. The walk is free. There will also be a 5k run for the competitive spirits for a $25 entry fee. With a cake contest, a talent show, special guests, raffles, and more, I hope to see you all there. Register now!
The money that is donated goes towards research and treatment.
