I was diagnosed with Lupus in January of 2010 at the age of 23. After a couple of months of extreme fatigue, low-grade fevers, and arthritis symptoms so bad that I couldn't lift my arm or turn door knobs, I was actually relieved to know what was wrong with me. It has been a rollercoaster ride ever since. Not a day goes by that I don't feel some sort of pain and I am one of the lucky ones! My lupus nephritis (kidney) is under control and I am tolerating the medications.
I have participated in the Walk To End Lupus Now™ for the past ten years. One of the nice things about the walk is that it reminds you that you are not alone. I am extremely grateful for the support that I get from my family and friends through it all. I would like to encourage anyone who wants to join me in walking for a cure! Please come out to the Verizon Theatre - 1001 Performance Place - Grand Prairie, TX 75050 on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 10:00 AM to help all the people who suffer from this terrible disease.
