Welcome to our fundraising team page.

Kansas City
Saturday, September 25,2021
Shawnee Mission Park

For the safety of walkers who are living with lupus, we are limiting attendance this year. The in-person events are only for those who have raised money and earned prizes, and up to four family members. You will be assigned a time to arrive between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. There will be no day of registration. If you are unable to attend, you can still participate by fundraising, earning prizes, and walking in your neighborhood. We will also broadcast live on Facebook from each event.

Virtual Walk Celebration
Everyone can join us on October 16, 2021 as we come together from coast to coast for a virtual celebration unlike any other. Hear from lupus experts, lupus warriors, team captains, Lupus Foundation of America staff and more special guests. You will have an opportunity to connect with other lupus warriors and celebrate the power we have together in the fight to end lupus!

Important Details!
While the CDC has advised that fully vaccinated people may be able to resume most activities, it is important to remember that people with lupus are at higher risk for severe illness and that every person with lupus is different. Some people with lupus may not have a strong response to the vaccine and may not produce enough protective antibodies. If you have lupus, you should talk to your health care team about when it is safe for you to stop wearing a mask and/or return to attending public events, even after you have been fully vaccinated.

ANYONE age 12 or older and NOT fully vaccinated is asked to wear a mask at the in-person events for the safety of participants who have lupus. If you are not feeling well or have any of the symptoms of COVID-19, or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please do not particpate. These guidelines will be stricly followed.

If you choose to walk in the park, please understand that there will be no start/finish lines, no set route, and no signs or support. Please be courteous to others in the park and keep at least 6 feet apart at all time. We will have some activites for in-person walkers that will be announced soon.

Don’t Miss Out! REGISTER today and start fundraising.

Imagine a day when doctors can say, "There is a cure for lupus". Until that day though, there is work to be done. That's why we are taking action in the fight against lupus. Join us as we participate in the Lupus Foundation of America's Walk to End Lupus Now! in Kansas City to raise critical funds for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States.

Will you join our team and help us reach our fundraising goal? You’ll be supporting the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus. You can also support by making a secure contribution on our walk page. Every single dollar counts!

Did you know?

  • Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
  • Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys.
  • While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
  • Only one drug has ever been developed and approved by the US Food and Drug Administration specifically to treat the disease.

Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Join our team today and support our efforts!
