Dearest Friends: First and foremost, I hope this letter finds you, your families and loved ones safe and sound during this historically trying time in history. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 Lupus Walk was postponed from April 2020 to October 10, 2020 and is being held virtually.
This has been an incredibly difficult year for Donna. One of the worst. It started last summer with the passing of our little Chihuahua, Jimi. He and Donna were inseparable. Then COVID 19 came along and Donna has been quaranting and as you know, this takes a terrible toll both mentally and physically and caused her not to see her treasured granddaughter Anabelle. Then came the ultimate. We lost our eldest Dachshund, Rocco, aka Big Guy, two nights ago from heart failure. Big Guy was so very special and truly one of a kind. He will be missed terribly. His passing has dealt Donna a crushing blow. All through this has been the constant dealing with painful Lupus flare ups. As always, Donna has shown unbelievable strength in dealing with all of this. Her strength and determination are beyond comprehension. What an effort to deal with all of this in the past year. She is truly incredible.
Due to the pandemic and its chaos, I don't feel comfortable in directly asking you for donations this year. What is important is thanking all of you for your support over the past years. You have been incredible, and several times have made Donna the top walker in Atlanta. Your support has been unbelievable, and Donna and I cannot thank all of you enough for what you have done for her and the fight against Lupus.
I do, however, ask for your thoughts, emotional support and prayers for all the world-wide Lupus patients, all affected by this terrible pandemic and of course, our beloved Donna. These things are so important right now and have such a tremendous impact.
For those of you who may want to donate, please click on the doante button on this page. Thank you in advance to those who choose to donate.
Please take care and be safe and let's make next year's Lupus Walk a record success. Thanks to each and every one of you.
