I’m Walking to End Lupus. Join Me?
On Jan 15, 2015 I was diagnosed with Class IV Lupus Nephritis & Class V Membranous Lupus Nephritis (MLN).
As a result, I am learning to live with this disease and more importantly participating in a walk on Saturday, April 21st to raise donations to help with research that impacts the patients right here in Georgia where I live.
I am asking you to please donate to my walking efforts. Every step and every donation helps our efforts to solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Ninety percent of every dollar donated stays in Georgia to ensure the Chapter continues to provide and expand the only free statewide lupus programs, resources and advocacy, including our support group network and nine statewide symposiums and seminars reaching new communities and patients. We also support the national research efforts funding and advocating for investment in lupus.
Your donation of any size is tax deductible and greatly appreciated. Please help me reach my personal goal of $2,500. Lupus Foundation of America, Georgia Chapter 501(c)(3) tax ID number (58-1231804)
Did you know?
- Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
- Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys.
- While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
- Only one drug has ever been developed and approved by the US Food and Drug Administration specifically to treat the disease.
Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Thank you for your generosity!
