I’m Walking to End Lupus. Would You Like to Join Me?
My journey with Lupus began in 2006 when I was diagnosed, so I’ve been living with Lupus for 11 years now. At the time I started experiencing Lupus symptoms and didn’t even know it. Little did I know Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease and can be treated but not cured. I had no idea that this would change my life forever. It took me years to accept this change in my life and the fact that I had Lupus. I finally gained acceptance and decided to educated myself on my disease and from that point on made changes in my life around my health and wellness. I didn’t want to be someone suffering from Lupus. I wanted to be someone living with Lupus. Being diagnosed with Lupus would eventually lead me to my “calling in life”. I discovered the Lupus Foundation of America, joined the Lupus Advocacy Bureau and began helping educate others about this cruel and mysterious disease. I now use my gifts, or God given talents, as well as my diagnosis to help others through life coaching, motivational speaking, and lupus awareness.
This is why I am honored and humbled to ask you to join my team and Walk to End Lupus Now. I use my experiences in life to educate about Lupus, so you and others can cope with any illnesses you may have, or to be a support to those who are your family, friends, or loved ones suffering from Lupus or other diseases.
The Lupus Foundation of America’s Walk to End Lupus Now™ in Orlando, FL is to raise critical funds for the estimated 1.5 million people living with lupus in the United States.
Will you make a donation to help me reach my personal fundraising goal and support the Foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus? A generous contribution of $25 or $55 can make a definite impact. What’s more, if your employer offers a Matching Gift Program to employees, you may be able to double your contribution with just a little bit of paperwork. Trust me, it’s worth the effort! Every single dollar counts.
Did you know?
Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.
Lupus symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys.
While lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90% of people living with lupus are women. Women of color are at especially high risk.
Only one drug has ever been developed and approved by the US Food and Drug Administration specifically to treat the disease.
Together, we can solve the cruel mystery of lupus. Thank you for your generosity and thanks for being a part of my team Li's Lupus Fighters!
