Walk to End Lupus Now Goes Virtual!

2020 Walk image
We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience as we, along with you, have been navigating these unprecedented times. The health and safety of the lupus community is our top priority, and we must all do our part to minimize the risk to people with lupus, our families and communities. That's why Walk to End Lupus Now® will be going completely virtual during a national event on 10.10.20!

This new experience will keep us together safely while we are apart due to the coronavirus. Join us on October 10th as we come together from coast to coast for a virtual walk event unlike any other. Hear from lupus experts, lupus warriors, team captains, Lupus Foundation of America staff and more special guests.

One of the best parts of a virtual event is your friends and family can join you from wherever they live!

Every step and every dollar raised brings us one step closer to a cure. And we need your help!

Walk registration page will be live later this week!
'In the Loop - Healthy Living with Lupus' Virtual Symposium
In the Loop logo Another big event in October is our annual symposium which is also going virtual this year! We hope you'll join us on Saturday, October 17th, at 11:00 am along with our keynote speaker, NaKaisha Tolbert-Banks, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Therapist and Certified Life Coach. You may have seen NaKaisha recently on WTHR News where she did a six-week series offering mental health tips. We're confident NaKaisha's keynote 'It’s Okay To... Laugh: Boosting Your Mental Health and Wellness One Giggle at a Time' will be informative and fun!

NaKaisha's keynote is the only live real-time segment of the symposium. The five breakout session topics are being pre-recorded so that you have access to watch them at your convenience as often as you'd like.

Other topics and speakers will be:
  • Lupus and Medication Management (Dr. Steven Neucks, Rheumatologist)
  • Lupus and COVID-19 (Dr. David Batt, Rheumatologist)
  • Lupus and the Kidneys (Dr. Nancy Baird, Rheumatologist)
  • Research: Past, Present and Future (Dr. Gary Gilkeson, Rheumatologist)
  • Managing Your Lupus and the Importance of Honest, Open Communication with Yourself, Your Doctor and Healthcare Team (Cindy Fiske BSN)
