We are so excited that our Indiana Chapter is participating in this year's Walking for Dreams, on May 21, 2017.
Walking for Dreams is an approximately 5K Family and Pet Walk that was started in 2004 to help local Indianapolis non-profit organizations raise needed funds to enable them to do more of what they do so well – serve the youth and families of Indianapolis. For the second year in a row, Walking for Dreams expands to the Evansville area for the 2017 walk!
Walking for Dreams pulls together local organizations to share in a joint fundraiser. Walkers of all ages will join together to support their special organization by raising pledges and participating.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of local corporations, all checks turned in by the walkers should be made out to your chosen non-profit and will be given directly to the selected organizations and are 100% tax deductible. Learn More!
Our sixth annual A Tasteful Affair fundraiser will be held on June 23, from 6:30 pm to 11:00 p.m at The Ritz Charles, 12156 N. Meridian Street in Carmel.
This year's event will include tastings from local restaurants and breweries (must be 21 to attend), as well as our awesome silent and live auctions, and music to dance to from The Bishops! You're not going to want to miss this!
Check out some of the fun auction items you can bid on this year!
* We are still looking for auction items valued at least $100, as well as 90 points or better wine for the wine pull for A Tasteful Affair. If you or your company can help, please contact Lisa@lupusindiana.org. Thank you!

LFA, Indiana Offers Statewide Support Groups
The philosophy of LFA support groups is to provide a warm and
caring environment where people with lupus, their family members, caregivers,
and loved ones can share their experiences, methods of coping, and insights
into living with lupus. LFA support groups provide a comfortable learning
environment to help members develop the best coping strategies to reduce stress
that often accompanies living with a chronic illness. Our Chapter is
fortunate to have professionally-trained volunteers to lead our support group
meetings and offer support to lupus patients, friends, and family members.

Eli Lilly and Company CoLAB Support
We recently had members of LFA, Indiana Chapter participate in a CoLAB study with Eli Lilly and Company in April.
Lilly is currently investigating 2 molecules for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus. People with lupus were encouraged to participate in this CoLAB study. The objective of a CoLab is to improve clinical trials by enabling study teams and external partners (patients, patient advocates, physicians, and study coordinators) to work face-to-face to better understand operational issues within the protocol.
We woud like to thank those from our organization who participated in the CoLAB with our community partner, Eli Lilly and Company. Lilly will be holding another CoLAB in August. Keep an eye out for more details to come.
