Dear Friend of the LFANC,
It is
with a cavernous well of emotion that I share the news with you that I will be
transitioning out of my role as the President and CEO of the Lupus Foundation
of America, North Carolina Chapter. I have accepted a role with another
NC-based nonprofit.
I am
compelled to assure you that this decision carried the approximate weight of
the world, and comes with a bittersweet taste that I’m sure will linger for
quite a time. Simply put, despite my
deep and continued adoration for the chapter, each of you who I have been
blessed to work alongside, and those we serve together, I ultimately made the
decision that is best for me and my family.
In
order to provide the smoothest transition possible, I will be remain in my
full-time position for two months (Feb & Mar) and then will shift to a part-time
schedule at (20 hours per week) for the following two-months (Apr & May). Meaning my final day of employment will be
May 31st. My intention is to offer
support through the completion of the chapter’s spring event season, set the
stage for our summer and fall programs & events, and make adequate
preparations for the incoming President & CEO.
I look
forward to continuing my support for the LFANC and the lupus community long
after my time of employment has finished. In the same vein that I will continue
to personally carry the torch for those affected by lupus and other autoimmune
diseases, I implore you to do the same. The greatest gift you could bestow upon
reflection of the work we have done together is to continue and deepen your
commitment to the life-changing work of the Lupus Foundation of America. I
thank you in advance for welcoming your new President & CEO in the same way
you welcomed and supported me of the years.
Thank
you for the nearly decade of astounding support you have offered during my
tenure. You are the heartbeat of this
organization’s mission and the trailblazers who marked the path for all we did
together. Thank you for blessing me with the chance to be a part of this with
you.
Sincerely,

Christine
John-Fuller President
& CEO
MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD:
Dear Friend of the LFANC,
Immediately
upon hearing this news, our leadership team sprang into action. Our Board Leadership began executing our
succession plan with three main priorities: 1) maintaining organizational
momentum; 2) taking care of all our people; 3) finding the right leader to
advance the Lupus Foundation of America, NC Chapter.
An
Executive Search and Transition Committee has already been established and
begun work to layout a roadmap for success.
This committee is working with Christine, staff, and advisors to ensure
all aspects are being considered and addressed.
You
have the commitment of myself and our leadership that we are putting complete
focus on ensuring the best for the organization and those we serve. We identify that you may have questions that
may arise. Feel free to reach out to me directly with any thoughts, ideas, or
concerns you may have. I can be reached at boardchair@lupusnc.org. We look forward to serving
you with the same dedication as always.
If you’re asking, “What can I do to help?”, my answer is to do whatever
you can to continue the positive momentum of our chapter – fundraise/donate,
volunteer, and stay engaged. We need
your commitment now more than ever, as we search for our new leader.
On
behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Christine for what she accomplished
during the decade she spent in the leadership position of President and
CEO. Throughout her time in the role,
she helped unify, inspire, and improve the quality of life for so many in our
lupus family. We wish her the very best
in the next chapter of her journey.
Sincerely,

Jace
Hunter Chairman
of the Board
