| We're excited to welcome in 2022 and hope that your year is filled with happiness and good health! We're busy planning for the In the Loop - Healthy Living with Lupus symposium in March, Lace Up for Lupus gala in May, Faces of Lupus fashion show in July, and the Walk to End Lupus Now in October! We hope to add some additional fun events throughout the year. We're looking forward to resuming in-person events this year and hope you'll be able to join us! |

High school seniors are encouraged to apply for the $1000 Marlene Stepanek Lupus Legacy Scholarship! Marlene was diagnosed with lupus in 1970 and lost her battle with the disease in 1977. Marlene valued education and her husband, Fred, hopes this scholarship in her honor will help a high school senior find their education dream. Learn more |

| 'In the Loop - Healthy Living with Lupus' Symposium |
| Our annual 'In the Loop - Healthy Living with Lupus' symposium will be held on Saturday, March 26. Early bird tickets are available through Sunday, February 20. Topics for this year's symposium include Lupus and Pregnancy, Teens Living With Lupus, Caregiver Conversation, Bringing the Fight to Lupus Nephritis: An Introduction to LUPKYNIS™ (Voclosporin), The Mind-Body Connection...The Power You Have to Create A Safe Space For Your Body to Heal, and Lupus Living-The Importance of Proper Nutrition. | Looking for someone who can provide support and assistance to overcome the barriers that come along with lupus? That’s what our patient navigators do! The Lupus Foundation of America, Indiana Chapter is a recipient of Aurinia Pharmaceuticals’ coveted patient navigation program grant, creating better ways to support Hoosiers with lupus, with a special focus on lupus nephritis. Services this program will provide include: •One-on-one appointments with a patient navigator •Assistance with transportation to medical appointments via Uber Health •Vouchers for co-pays •Vouchers for prescription costs •Free access to written resources •Free access to research papers and updates. | Our Chapter offers the Patient Access to Healthcare (PATH) program for people in Indiana living with lupus to assist with the most crucial needs that can't be met through other community resources. If you live in Lake County, we have special funding available to you made possible by the Crown Point Community Foundation. The following goods and services are eligible for subsidy through PATH: • Emergency prescriptions • Medical appointment • Lab work • Durable medical equipment • Transportation to or from a medical appointment • Emergency utilities (water, electric, gas) • Emergency rent/housing.
