May is Lupus Awareness Month!  Lupus Awarenss Month is an opportunity for the lupus community to join together across the country to raise funds and awareness of the physical, emotional and economic impact of lupus.

There are many ways you can help Make Lupus Visible in May - from sharing your story on social media to starting a fundraiser or making a donation.

Walk to End Lupus Now image
Again this year, we're excited to take the Walk to End Lupus Now™ completely virtual! Join us on Saturday, October 16th, as we come together from coast to coast for a virtual Walk unlike any other. Hear from lupus experts, lupus warriors, team captains, Lupus Foundation of America staff and more special guests. This experience will keep us together safely while we're apart due to the coronavirus. You will have an opportunity to connect with other lupus warriors and celebrate the power we have together in the fight to end lupus!

Whether you’re walking in your home, backyard or neighborhood -- no matter where you are, your steps, your fundraising and your power will get us one step closer to ending lupus. So put on your purple, lace up your tennis shoes, post your photos to Facebook, and go Live as we raise funds to help end the cruel mystery of lupus!

Registration this year is $25*. Registration fee includes a t-shirt and mask and a gift for walkers with lupus.

*Early bird registration for $20 is available through Monday, June 7th. Children under 12 are free - t-shirt and mask are not included.

Meet Tom Adamson - Our New Board Member!
Tom Adamson is the Consumer Division Program Manager for Brown & Brown Absence Services Group – a nationwide advocacy organization dedicated to helping people apply for and receive Social Security Disability (SSDI) benefits. Tom joined Brown & Brown in 2017 to advance the organization’s commitment to help as many people as possible. Prior to joining Brown & Brown, Tom served as a Team Lead for a nationwide law firm that specializes in SSDI representation. Tom brings over 9 years of experience within the Social Security Disability advocacy space, he is passionate about developing strong partnerships and enriching the lives of as many people as possible by assisting organizations and individuals meet their healthcare needs and financial well-being through advocacy work. Tom was born and raised on the North Shore of Massachusetts and graduated from the University of Massachusetts where he earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Legal Studies. Tom enjoys all things outdoors, especially hiking and trail running. Tom lives in the North End of Boston, Massachusetts where he enjoys walking along the harbor and exploring the city with his fiancé, Meg, and Australian Shepherd, Ollie.

Let's Talk About It
'Let's Talk About It' is a series of live educational webinars designed to provide you with important information about living with lupus. Don't miss this opportunity to learn important information about living with lupus from the comfort of your home!

The next session will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 7:00-8:00 pm EST, and the topic is Lupus and Pain Management. Join us as we hear from Dr. Pegram and Dr. Michaud from Advanced Pain Care in Central Texas. They will discuss lupus, treatments, and options to manage pain caused by lupus. Dr. Pegram has built his reputation on quality patient care while Dr. Michaud started as a nurse before becoming a doctor. This has helped him to have compassion and better care for his patients.
