Description: Evon Peterson will be discussing the different coverages available through Medicare and the supplements which are available for add on.  She will help you be more successful at minimizing out of pocket expenses by breaking down what is covered by each part so that you can navigate the program and select a policy that is best suited for your needs

Presenter: Evon Peterson is a Former Medicare Surgical Claims Examiner and Tennessee Legislative Liaison for Medicare Equitable Life, Nashville, TN; Assistant and Acting Director of Nursing, TIRR, Houston, TX; and Occupational Health Nurse in heavy manufacturing and health care facilities; sole proprietor Contemporary Nursing. I have enjoyed other clinical, educational and administrative nursing positions in varied settings.  Additionally, she was a Speaker for the TX Senate on nursing education, White House Conference for Children with Disabilities, and FDA Hearings on Product Safety (proxy). Founding Board Member of TX Association of Rehabilitation Nurses and Slater-Marietta, SC, Health and Human Services, Inc. Demonstration Project. I have special interest in relationships between individuals, communities, health policy and laws, and funding.  She is a Graduate of Galveston Community College and OLLU with additional studies at Prairie View A&M, Texas Woman’s University, and The University of Texas.

She also has thirty-two years managing my life with SLE and disability. In addition to clients, I have assisted 8 close family members and many friends with long term care issues including funding and end of life. Participant in Baylor Women with Disabilities research pilot project. Long -time community volunteer for multiple non-profit organizations including 20+ years with LFA, Gulf Coast in various roles, including former Montrose Support group leader and Education Committee.
