Lupus Education Program To Underserved Population - Dallas
The Lupus Foundation of America, Lone Star Chapter recognizes that Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease which can be destructive to any organ or tissue in the body. The disease is very unpredictable and potentially fatal. Approximately 1.5 million Americans have a form of lupus. It strikes mostly females between the ages of 15 – 44, and women of color are two-three times more likely to develop lupus. These staggering figures are just part of the reason that our agency developed a new approach to educating two vulnerable populations of African American and Hispanic/Latino individuals living in Texas.
